UGREEN CM677 (25445) 8K@60Hz HDMI 2.1 Audio Extractor
The UGREEN CM677 (25445) 8K HDMI Audio Extractor is designed for users who want to enjoy high-resolution HDMI video while sending audio to a separate sound system. Instead of relying only on a television or monitor's built-in speakers, this compact device extracts audio from an HDMI source and delivers it through optical SPDIF or a 3.5mm AUX connection. With support for up to 8K@60Hz video pass-through, HDMI 2.1 connectivity and multiple audio output options, it provides a flexible solution for gaming, home entertainment, desktop computing and multimedia installations.
8K@60Hz Ultra HD HDMI Video Pass-Through
The UGREEN CM677 supports video pass-through up to 8K at 60Hz, making it suitable for compatible high-resolution display systems. Its HDMI input receives the video and audio signal from a source device, while the HDMI output forwards the video signal to a television, monitor or projector. This arrangement allows users to maintain a direct HDMI display connection while extracting sound separately. Actual resolution and refresh rate depend on the connected source, display, HDMI cables and signal configuration.
Optical SPDIF Output for Digital Audio Systems
The built-in optical SPDIF output allows the UGREEN 25445 to connect with compatible soundbars, home theater receivers, digital amplifiers and other audio equipment equipped with an optical input. This is particularly useful when the display lacks a suitable audio output or when the user prefers a dedicated sound system. Optical audio capabilities depend on the selected audio mode and the formats supported by the receiving equipment.
3.5mm AUX Output for Analog Speakers
In addition to digital optical audio, the UGREEN CM677 provides a 3.5mm analog audio output. Users can connect compatible powered desktop speakers, headphones or audio systems with an AUX input. This flexibility makes the extractor useful for both home theater and everyday desktop setups. The 3.5mm output is intended for compatible analog stereo audio equipment and should not be treated as a multichannel surround sound output.
HDMI 2.1 Connectivity for Modern Entertainment
The UGREEN CM677 uses an HDMI 2.1-based interface with HDCP 2.3 support, making it suitable for compatible modern HDMI source devices and displays. It can be incorporated into setups involving gaming consoles, desktop computers, laptops with HDMI output and streaming devices. Its high-resolution pass-through capability is particularly useful for customers upgrading their entertainment equipment while retaining an existing external audio system.
Flexible Audio Modes for Different Setups
The UGREEN 25445 is listed with selectable audio configurations, including stereo, multichannel and bypass-related modes. These options help users adapt the audio signal to the requirements of connected speakers, receivers and other equipment. For example, a basic analog speaker setup may require stereo output, while a compatible optical sound system may support compressed multichannel audio. Available formats and functions depend on the device configuration, source content and receiving audio equipment.
USB-C Powered Compact Design
The UGREEN CM677 uses a USB-C power connection with a listed requirement of 5V/1A. Its compact metal housing helps it fit into entertainment cabinets, computer desks and multimedia installations without taking up significant space. Once the HDMI source, display, audio equipment and power supply are connected, the extractor can operate without installing separate computer software. Its straightforward design makes it useful for both permanent installations and occasional presentation or entertainment setups.
Practical Audio Separation for Gaming and Home Theater
The UGREEN CM677 is particularly helpful when a user wants to connect a gaming console or media player to a high-resolution television while directing audio to a separate sound system. It can also be useful for desktop monitors that have limited built-in audio capabilities. By separating HDMI audio from the video path, the device provides more flexibility in choosing speakers and audio equipment without requiring a different display.
